Housing Needs

The Greater Phoenix Urban League (GPUL) is a HUD approved housing agency recognized for excellence in providing housing education programs around the valley. GPUL has partnered with the city of Phoenix and the state of Arizona to implement the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) and the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling program (NFMC) to assist distressed homeowners. GPUL strives to help local families secure safe, comfortable, affordable housing. Our first time Homebuyer education workshops are offered at the GPUL office on a regular basis, as well as online through eHome America.

Will you help us to support those in need to access and maintain safe affordable housing?

GPUL helps families navigate the process of buying and keeping a home.

GPUL Performs the Following Services

1) Foreclosure Prevention
2) First Time Homebuyer Education
3) Supportive Housing Services

We help those in need to secure and maintain their housing. Our supportive housing services are rooted in the core belief that stable housing is essential for success. We provide services aimed at providing housing stability to low income seniors and families who may experience increased barriers to housing, such as:

  • Low and Extremely Low Income
  • Domestic Violence and/or History or Sex Trafficking
  • Previous Criminal History
  • Separated Families
  • Previous Poor Credit History
  • Unemployed or Underemployed

We provide the following services to help these populations attain and maintain their housing.

Our HUD-certified housing counselors and resident service coordinators provide on-site supportive services at a number of Low Income Tax Credit (LIHTC) affordable housing communities throughout the Valley of the Sun.
